People sometimes ask me how I can be so prolific/productive and its easy, I don't waste time reading books or listening to 3 hour podcasts. 

You'd be amazed how much you can do by doing versus spending your time with others telling you what they did.

Podcasts lost their magic for me when  they have reached the regurgitation state for said podcast. I do still find magical podcasts in between every now and again. Its impossible to be truly novel at every turn. For books, again its more on what you decide to read rather than reading itself. If the podcasts and books don't feed into some authentic curiosity, its more or less just behaviorally rote.
