Music Channel Update: Since most users on Warpcast don't visit channel feeds often, I've decided to temporarily turn off moderation in the /music channel. Without a moderator, the channel's main feed will now show casts by power badge users and the viewer's followers. Just to be clear, this is a temporary change while we wait for Merkle to launch their new version of channels. I'm hoping the update will make channels feel more like communities rather than just tags. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

New version of channels...? I didn't even know that was in development. Would love to hear more, since I'm considering starting a new channel. Sounds like it might be best to wait awhile.

Two weeks ago, during the /latenightcrew show, @dwr.eth mentioned that V was working on a new version of channels. I don’t recall hearing a timeline for its release or specific details about the changes

No doubt they'll announce it more widely when they're ready. But in the meantime, even that little bit of info is helpful. It's exciting to know that a new version is in the works. Thank you.

I was also glad to hear that changes are coming, and I hope they happen sooner rather than later. Through the discussions on /latenightcrew, I also discovered that most people see channels as tags, which surprised me since I've been navigating them like subreddits

*nod* My idea of an "ideal channel" would be much closer to a subreddit than a tag, for sure. I'm likely to postpone starting a new channel for other reasons anyway. This just gives me a really good built-in excuse to take my time with it... lol.
