I know this is not a travel channel but maybe some local can help me avoid tourists trap :) I will start to plan my day in Amsterdam today (I'll be there in a couple of weeks). Any "can't miss" places to go (daytime)? Excluding museums, just areas to walk around and visit. 1 day only, so I'll have to be picky 🤣👀

Is there is something on the walk to there from the central station? Maps says it's 3km, but i guess there should be something to see or stop for on the way?

from Centraal, go to the street called Zeedijk. it's a 5 min walk and you'll find some of the coolest traditional Dutch cafes (brown cafes), some of Amsterdam's best Asian restaurants (Thai Snackbar Bird, Wing Kee) and also our best streetwear brands (Patta, The New Originals). if you're into music, Rush Hour is a great record shop next to Dam Square if you wanna smoke a joint, don't go to The Bulldog (tourist trap). instead, visit Dampkring, Green House or Boerenjongens. the old Heineken factory is on the way to Albert Cuyp, which is a cool visit if you have the time. lots of cute cafes near Albert Cuyp market as well. this area is called De Pijp. it's a more trendy area where young people hang out. my fav bars: Pilsvogel, De Groene Vlinder, Gollem (lots of amazing special beers, if you're into it). have an amazing time and feel free to hit me for any q's!

Yeah you can walk through dam square - there are a few canals as you walk down to Rokin and you will walk past Rijksmuseum - walk through to see the maze garden
