Last night I created an experiment on Farcaster that went farther than intended. What started as platform research revealed deeper truths about incentives, boundaries, consent, and human impact in web3. Some important lessons and thoughts on building better systems: https://blog.danfinlay.com/meme-tokens-and-consent/

Wow. What a thoughtful deep dive into the meme coin world. Thanks for putting this together. I'm a bit scared, but curious, to ask what you think of social tipping coins such as those on Hamcaster? I find it to be a fun way to interact and build community, although I have a lot to learn on how to best use them to that end. And I DO want to build community. 100 $MONK if you are interested! Not enough to be worth selling, but check it out if you want!

I have not played with it, and now that I've touched such a hot live wire so recently, I'd love if you'd describe it to me in detail before dipping in directly myself. Link summaries of course are fine.

Haha, that makes sense. What originally brought me to $TN100x was the idea of a tipping token. I thought it was a brilliant way of performing a slow protracted airdrop in a way that built up a community by positively reinforcing actions that were beneficial to the community. $Degen and $TN100x came out at around the same time and I was drawn to the vibe of $TN100x as it's more community driven and a bit silly and fun which is up my alley. @deployer, the dev, has been building non stop since then breaking some pretty cool ground on multiple levels. One project is Hamcaster, which allows farcaster users to create child tokens from $TN100x which are linked to their social media profiles. Ultimately giving farcaster users a personal token that can be tipped throughout Farcaster and Twitter. People are experimenting with different ways to leverage and use these to develop their own networks in their own ways. So far I am still in the idea phase of this part of the journey.

You know, I had a slightly similar idea when I was flying back from the first ENS summit. People had been talking about bonding curves to order reddit posts, and one aspect of reddit I always loved was the nested comment system, so I fantasized what it might be like if tokens could be used to stake/bid on the sub-tokens. It still sounds novel in the current ecosystem, and immediately gives you *something* to do with the meme coins once you have them (refine the meme!). For tipping I don't have as intuitive a sense of how that might unfold. Why would I use one memecoin to mint my own tipping token? What unique qualities am I deriving from that action? Random shout out to @nor's Index wallets as a unique approach to personal tokens I've seen recently. I think I finally started grokking it since our last meeting. https://preprint.indexwallets.org/

glanced at Index Wallets, I'm going to need a moment to digest that one. Thanks for the link.

coming from a non technical viewpoint, I would have a hard time just launching my own tipping token, so this gives me access to something pretty cool I wouldn't otherwise have. Community wise, creating a personal tipping token that is still founded in a greater mass has a secure feeling to it: The token itself is a member of a community, which it can contribute to, draw strength and inspiration from, and get support when needed ... That said, I'm still trying to figure out the most fun way to use my token so you got me there. haha. Keep up the good fight! It's people like you who truly inspire my crypto journey and make me believe it has a chance to do good in the world, despite it's many flaws.

Unique qualities of minting a hamcaster token: - I earn $tn100x every time my caster token is bought or sold. - I received 5 million of my token supply up front. - Gas on a layer 3 is basically free to transact. - It's only possible to mint using Metamask. 🦊 Things you can do with my caster tip: - Stake it to earn a 200% APY on hamcaster. - Sell it for $tn100x - Lock it, which boosts my rewards for stakers. (My lockers also receive a portion of my $degen tips as an incentive.) The tech and tokenomics are incredible. All caster tokens are unique and have different rewards that can personalized and changed at any time. Here's a link to my token and the frame below is a guide on how to convert tips to stake them. 1000 $FIRE https://hamcaster.com/token/398028 https://1iy6tjt.warpcast.tools/api/frames/young-mayfly-88

Well Hamcaster is a novel social defi app on Ham chain. $TN100x is the primary token of Ham. Hamcaster acts as a flywheel for the ecosystem. The Degen team really kicked off the tipping meta which inspired Ham to take it further and implement onchain tipping and a registry for tipping symbols (think ENS for tipping symbols) called the Onchain Tipping Registry. There's some work being done now to expand this system into THE decentralized tipping protocol that projects like Degen and Ham can use as well as any other project or community that might benefit by distributing a portion of their token via tipping. I think tipping becomes a social primitive. And we are building systems to support this. Regarding Hamcaster, I just like tipping my own token. Its like an extension of the like button, but additionally there's a silly social defi system that you can use to stake my token and earn Ham, convertible 1:1 w/ TN100x 1000 $DEP

In Hamcaster's case the personal token is less about tipping for tipping's sake. It's bonded to $TN100x because Hamcaster is all about staking those tokens to earn a share of that Caster's earnings. Being able to tip it is a bonus and basically inviting others to come share in your earnings, while adding a personal touch to tipping I guess 😄 However now you can bridge or launch other tipping coins unrelated to $TN100x but I have yet to tinker with it.. I believe you have to contact @deployer in it's current state to be added to the bridge. But it's been integrated directly into MintClub for launching new tokens so i hope to give it a try in the next few days. Pretty cool stuff in general happening on Farcaster I love it!
