You could commit an anon cast to being from some predefined pool of accounts and if a user has opted into following the pool or anyone in the pool it could be just slotted into the feed as an anon post

Yeah this is a clean and simple solution. Only drawback I see is that you have to re-encrypt for each recipient, based on public following lists.
