Q: Does taking my cat to the vet count as a /catwalk ? A: Yes! The point of /catwalk is to share strategies to combat common issues we all have when taking our housecats outside the home indoor cat outside the home 🟰a /catwalk A few things that struck me about the post from @dainu in the comment section below

1) use of leash- I use a leash to protect and control my cat while getting fresh air. Keeps my cats instincts more intact ➡️ here @dainu also uses a leash to control and protect but at the vets office Takeaway? Get your cat used to a harness. Gives the owner control How? While at home, put the harness on a couple times a day for 5 mins. At first they won’t like it but within a week they won’t mind. If you’re consistent they will adapt

https://warpcast.com/dainu/0x6cdf34e8 2) use of a backpack - I use a backpack to get my cat to a place she will enjoy while keeping her safe (across streets, public transport etc) Bonus benefit: cat learns the scary sounds of the world from inside a place they know is theirs. Eventually, open the lid and id they want to explore they will. Its at their pace 💚 Here @dainu uses it to transport and give comfort while in a stressful place (the vet)

Thank you!! That’s the goal! I want to spread the benefits of cat walking or at least put myself out there for feedback cause it feels like I’m the only one irl who does 😹

I think you're the only person on Farcaster who consistently does cat walking! Where I live, it's pretty common to see people carrying their cats on their shoulders, in their arms, bags, or whatever but usually they're kittens or very young cats. It's rare to see an adult cat out like that. I used to take Rocky outside when he was a little boy and he really enjoyed it, but now he gets scared, you can tell by the way his ears react. Lil Grey and Pepe, on the other hand are totally fine being outside, probably because they were strays and are used to all the outdoor noises.
