it's a huge incentive for budding creators and at least it's not a shitcoin so we don't have to put up with another cycle of the same memes, quote casting and eventual infighting

The reason for the criticism is It's a flywheel where the rich gets richer. Sure, anyone has a fair shot to make it to the top 50 but between all the stuff top creators are already getting, I reckon 200 bucks doesn't make much of a dent anymore. Capital should be deployed to make the experience more enjoyable for onboarders, someone with half a billion followers is settled and not going anywhere anytime soon cc: @dwr.eth

not really, the money will stay in the eco if it goes into the hands of people who don't need it I don't think there's a fair shot, on farcaster and in crypto you'll find some very creative people. I don't have a chance, but if I wanted to try I could easily come up with niches to fit into which aren't crypto related capital will go where it's efficient, what they're doing is getting creators interested. that's what a social network needs, not more degens imo
