Since December I’ve been using Cursor to rebuild our @base  character creator from da ground up.
 I’m happy to announce Da Performers V2!

Backstory In Q3 2022 we started designing the sprites that would become Da Performers — my goal was to give players an accessible way to own their characters and bring them into any of our Da Cirkus activations.

There are 6 character types:
* Strong
* Magic
* Balance
* Tech
* Normie
* Funny Each one has unique walk, idle, and jump animations ready for games or animations.

By Q2 2023 we had finished the characters, but I had no idea how to actually build something like this. I prototyped in Godot, since that’s all I knew — and hoped to figure out the rest later.

In Q4 2023 I linked with @sweetman.eth . Who, with his team, helped bring the vision to life. 

They rebuilt my prototype in JS and drafted our contract.
 By Q2 2024 we soft-launched V1 and started applying for grants for funding. Most notably the @base onchain summer buildathon

Even though we didn’t get the grants, I felt like I had leveled up.
 I went from zero coding or blockchain knowledge to launching a full project in a few years.
 But as a creative perfectionist, I couldn’t confidently stand behind V1.

The vision was always accessibility. Age 5 to 65 — I want to sell to my cousins and my grandma.
 Neither of them should have to learn crypto, but both should get the benefits.
 Mobile support + credit card checkout = non-negotiable.

Problem was, we coded ourselves into a corner trying to mirror my Godot version.
 And Sweets team only had so much time/resources.
 So after launch... the project sat still through the summer.

Then October came. @sweetman.eth  kept telling me to try Cursor At first I resisted — Godot is my baby. But eventually I gave in... and wow. Total game changer.

I started small, making little vibe coding game projects.
 The bigger attempts? Complete failures.
 But I learned from each one.  
By December, I had the confidence to fully rebuild Da Performers.

At first I tried patching the old version — just add mobile and credit card support. Didn’t work. But it shifted my mindset: This was about full autonomy. Building it myself, without needing to lean on my devs.

This was pure trial and error. I tried every tool combo under the sun until I found the one that clicked: @privy  login @crossmint  checkout @thirdweb  contract base All three had solid docs + community support.

I call this a “vibe coding journey” but let’s be real — it was chaos. Frustration. Bugs. Late nights. Throwing stuff at the wall, hoping something stuck. But I kept going.

After months of testing and reworking, I’m proud to say: We finally saw the vision through. The lows were worth it for the highs. I feel like I’ve finally laid the foundation for what this project was always meant to be.

It might seem like this is the end, but it’s only the beginning. Now I’ve got the vessel(Cursor) to power everything we build at Da Cirkus. Coming soon:
