I know we joke a lot about L3s, but I do believe there are several valid reasons to launch one 🧵

1) Dedicated blockspace. Until isolated fee markets are supported (like the SVM), peak congestion will always be a problem for EVM chains. Dedicated blockspace is a proxy to achieving fee isolation.

2) Cheaper/faster bridging with the settlement layer. Going from L2 <-> L3 is a much better experience than L1 <-> L2.

3) Alignment. Easier to bootstrap mindshare/community with the rollup stack as well as the settlement layer. Look at $DEGEN chain which launched this past week - both Base and Arbitrum shared support for it.
