The South Korean city of Jeju is planning to issue NFT cards for tourists. According to journalists, Korean tourists who have obtained the so-called digital tourist resident card will be able to use various benefits. Jeju plans to provide tourism subsidies, memberships, and discounts on tourist destinations to Korean tourists who have obtained a digital resident card.
The funds are expected to be paid in local currency. Municipal officials hope that this will have an effect on economic recovery.
The NFT card is scheduled to be launched in the second half of 2025.
