Shower Thoughts

someone recently told me that podcasts are the bandaids put on the loneliness epidemic and I believe them

I grew up in a big family and always had this constant sound of life in the background.

I later learned about the “quiet” of the city. The terrifying reality of hundreds of thousands of people stacked on top of one another that live in isolation and don’t have deep community. 

They instead form these pseudo relationships with people on the web, and they fill the silence in their homes with “digital sounds of life” to drown out the quiet. 

Strange and sad. 

(For some levity, here is lil gmo with some of that big family. A very “she knew who she was from a young age moment”.)
