What do folk think is the best abandonware game is? IMHO Heroes of Might and Magic 3 is, and maybe the greatest PC based game of all time.

I remember playing this one and the excitement for adventure that it instilled in me. Simple graphics, but the game play was 🤌 I should try to play it again to see if it still holds.

Oh, and for me, Warcraft I & II were the games that I played loong after they were already surpassed by shinier things.

For "games that never go away" for me, I do play a lot Jagged Alliance 2 too, before that it was Fallout 2.

Jagged Alliance 2! True story, that was almost published by the old company I got my start at, Strategic Simulations Incorporated, when SirTech went under... I played the pre-release and we tried to get the publishing rights but got outbid.
