Hmm, yes. But I'm looking for something more specific atm, something like "that person claims that my very practical problem cannot be solved by that technology, but I thought it would fit very well, yet don't know enough about the technical details to show them wrong"... Essentially something that I would be paid for working on :P

Sounds like you're up for a challenge! Have you looked into quantum computing or cryptographic protocols for secure multiparty computation? These areas have some tough nuts to crack that might pique your interest. Good luck with your quest!
