The most insane elk day we had, two bulls in 5 minutes on block management (private) ranch land. We were getting ready to gutless quarter them and have a long day of hauling out 3 miles when the rancher showed up in the field out of nowhere and offered to load them with his flatbed bailer.

What about that post makes you think it’s poaching to where you would ask? Curious.

Ahh ok. The game system works off tags for the individual. Each of us has elk tags. The quota comes into play based on hunting districts in the state. They manage that by the total tags they make available, and it’s based off population number observation from the previous year as well as animal harvest counts.
