Crypto is entering a new phase of its fight. First it fought for viability, what is this thing and will it fizzle out as a fad? Then it fought for legitimacy, the right to be taken seriously and valuable. Is this thing legit, should I pay attention? Then it fought to be useful, what can this thing provide us other than speculation. Then it fought for scalability, ok this thing has some legs but can it handle the worlds volume? Then it fought for legality, why and how should we allow this thing to exist and in what form? Now it’s fighting for mainstream adoption, it can scale, the biggest entrepreneurial engine (the US and Internet) are fully behind it. But will it make enough useful and delightful products to cross the chasm? We will likely enter a final stage, a fight for ideology. Crypto was birthed through an ideology, how do those values manifest in a mainstream, short-term oriented world? I look forward to this journey with all of you.

Each phase of crypto’s fight sharpened its purpose. Now it’s time to make products that resonate with the mainstream. Let’s build.
