HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM HACKS. PC, MAC.

Both Windows and Mac are susceptible to viruses, so ideally, avoid using your work crypto computer for anything other than crypto activities. Use a separate machine for torrents, pirate sites, and downloading random programs and extensions to minimize risk.

It’s also no secret that Mac is significantly more resistant to viruses compared to Windows. Therefore, for working in crypto, buy a Mac (sorry, Windows fans, but this is a fact). Now let's get to securing your computer:

2. Run a system scan at least once every two weeks.

3. Never store important files/passwords/keys/seed phrases on your computer. Use a reputable flash drive, download a portable version of KeePass (https://keepass.info/download.html), and store everything there. Alternatively, you can use 1Password. Store files (Excel, Word) on the flash drive in an encrypted archive.

4. Buy a second flash drive. If the first one is lost/broken, you won't lose your data.

Now that we've removed all data from the computer, let's go further.

5. Protect the clipboard. In Chrome, disable clipboard reading: chrome://settings/content/clipboard. You can also download KeyScrambler (https://www.qfxsoftware.com/). It supposedly encrypts the clipboard, but I'm not sure about this information (double-check it!).

6. Enable 2FA on Google accounts and, ideally, phone number verification.

🍏 Mac

Do everything as you would for Windows, except for steps 3 and 5.

3. You don't need to download third-party software for storing passwords. You can store everything in a text document/spreadsheet on a flash drive encrypted through Disk Utility (guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hf5zNzIglgA).

4. Disable Chrome clipboard reading, but there's no need to download KeyScrambler (it's not available for Mac anyway), as the clipboard is better protected in macOS compared to Windows.

In general, this should be enough to protect yourself from data theft, but there's always a risk. So before visiting any wallet checkers, unknown protocols, or downloading PDFs from unknown sources, check the links through VirusTotal (https://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/url).

1. Buy an antivirus. I know Kaspersky Premium is the best. Ideally, get it, but any other top antivirus will do. The important thing is to have one.
