Behind the scenes: It's so nice seeing the background that I pushed at the top of this image appear in the final product. The idea here was to provide some nod to /dot. As @judebuffum was working on their typography, I set out to create a background that would allow it to pop.

I settled on using monotone dark blue and blue as the colors of choice. As I'm pretty familiar with Dot, I knew that each canvas was 16x16 and that the Basepaint canvas was 144x144 pixels. Consequently, Dot canvases could fit perfectly as a 9x9 grid of canvases.

The order of the canvases was done based on mint order, so top left was Welcome to Dot followed by Mr. Gopher.

To make the background more interesting, I settled on alternating positive and negative 1-bit versions of Dot canvases.

Though the positive/negative aspect and the chronological order didn't persist to the end, I still think the final canvas is a great example of what so many artists can do when they work towards a shared vision. Definitely feeling the summer vibes with this one!
