This is problematic - a Power Badge'd account that purports to "automatically summarize and cast about the best posts on Paragraph" is casting out literally NOTHING - which wastes the time of everyone who engages and lowers confidence in future casts from @paragraph This is classic spam / bot behavior, @colin - can or will anything be done about it? Or do purple badges get a pass on these types of casts? p.s. I was very much looking forward to reading a "thoughtful exploration of sustainable living practices," so if anyone is actually writing about that subject, feel free to @ me!

i briefly followed the paragraph account before unfollowing it because lots of the posts seemed low quality finding out they just had a bot cast out every single paragraph article that's posted explains things I'm not opposed to a branded account like this using automatic post mechanisms, but it would make sense to filter it on at least some popularity metrics and basic checks (e.g. that the article exists) not sure what the actual policy is on PB and bots, but posting quality articles feels like it would pass the bar for spam if better curated thanks for highlighting this! 1000 $degen for investigative journalism?

Thank you for supporting "investigative journalism" here on WC! Investigating the interplay between "good" bots and "bad" bots, the humans caught in between, and the evolving power dynamics between the "haves" and "have-nots" on this platform was not something that I set out to do, but it is something that more and more of my regular interactions have driven me to do.. Some may read my analysis as negative - but my goal is not only to highlight problems, but to suggest and advocate for solutions. Many of the issues that I've discovered are, I believe, unintended consequences of attempts to "do something good" - and one of the great things about this platform is its potential to iterate in real-time - to "fail fast, fail often, and fail forward" - if a problem IS identified, it's still very possible to tweak a given process (be it $DEGEN allowances, Power Badges, automated casting, bot-identification algorithms, etc) to move the ecosystem toward a more perfect "future state." I'm here for it - let's build!
