made some plots in rust because I'm trying to have a nice day backend for frame generation

they're ugly as hell

try to find a better rust graphing library that makes nicer plots

at least they're generated in milliseconds instead of the literal seconds I would be waiting in matplotlib or something

look at these lines with MASSIVE aliasing that don't meet

i can probably fix the aliasing by rendering with the SVGBackend and then turning that into a bitmap with a better renderer but wtf am i doin at that point

they will be rendered to a PNG by the web server

the idea is to encode into base64 to return the frame request immediately and then asynchronously write to disk to cache it if they want to share the result

think i found another library, charts-rs, that makes a nicer chart and renders without weird line errors

Where are you rendering the plots; console, web, other? If web then let web do web plotting.

i wouldn't be surprised if there's a way to do so, but tbh i set myself a goal of keeping the entire website, frontend and backend, using rust only, with the only caveat obviously that i still have html and css for the pages and styling

partly this is as an exercise, but i also really disliked js when i used it
