The book Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki was the first book I read many years after leaving school. I picked it up on a whim, left unfinished by my brother. Before reading it, the world never really made sense to me. The conventional path of going to school, getting a job, maybe buying a house or two, owning a nice car, and pretending to be alive for four weeks a year, only to rinse and repeat until retirement, seemed ludicrous.
I used to hate money and the idea of selling my life for it. Most people seemed unfazed by money, reacting awkwardly to any mention of it, which left me confused and indifferent. This book was my first eye-opener a revealing that becoming a millionaire wasn’t just a fantasy but a very achievable goal. It was a great starting point for my journey into personal development and understanding cash flow.
