The masks are effective and you can breathe just fine.

Only N95 masks are effective and only when everyone wears them because they prevent exhaling viral substances, not enhaling. 

As for "breathing just fine" that's absolutely not true. I couldn't stand wearing them and they often caused headaches and trouble breathing.
