Easiest way to get started is to sign up (preferably with someone's referral code to help out the community!) and purchase your first cats. You can start with as little as one, but a really good starting place is 100 cats. From there, you'll want to get yourself some $KIBBLE so you can interact with the game. Gacha spins are around 75-100 $KIBBLE per spin, and you get five spins a day. Fishing happens over the weekend and each fish identification is about 40 $KIBBLE per fish. Over time, your cats you purchased will generate floof, which you can then use to combine into more cats OR sell to get back some ETH (this can be done once an hour). If you have any other questions, feel free to drop by the Discord. There's an incredibly helpful community there to assist wherever you need. <3 https://discord.gg/cattown

Yeah, we have lots of plans to add more games and systems. Some of them include cooking, skateboarding, voyages, adventures and scavenging as we progress into the end of this year and next we'll be sharing more about these ideas

KIBBLE is dried cat food 😆 inspired by "get that bread" so instead we gotta get that kibble

We've done some prototyping with onchain AI agents that have been fed and prompted personalities for each villager. We hope that one day this will be hooked up to each villager and their routines will be largely determined by these AI agents. In the near future we'll be adding reputation for each villager so that you can get to know them better, earn exclusive items that might give you an edge in different mini-games or simply get access to some back story and cosmetics from that character

Thanks for the great question! Short answer is yes. The first NFT collection was 777 in size and we imagine the next one will be in the range of 1500 - 3333. It'll likely have a "city" palette, so imagine more alternative, grungy or high fashion styles

I'm personally looking forward to building the guild housing system and multiplayer features Community in gaming and crypto is so important, can't wait to see players form their own communities

I'm gonna cheat and pick two very different features 🤣 The two top features I'm looking forward to are: - the ability for clan / guild leaders to create their own guild hideouts and see their guild mates when they log on - really fun items that change the way your playstyle feels when adventures launch!

We'll be releasing more mini-games over time with parallel marketing campaigns and airdrops to bring in new users! We think a balanced strategy of burns and rewards are the best way to drive engagement and longevity

$KIBBLE is used to engage with any of our mini-games, the boutique, the tackle shop, as well as being our rewards token for any loyalty based systems Currently players can earn $KIBBLE through mini-games and by selling their unwanted items to Rosie's supermarket in town. We prefer the idea of areas being unlocked via obtaining items like keys, or by completing particular quests. KIBBLE might be useful for achieving these items or completing these quests, but we don't like the idea of a direct payment to unlock new areas

The mission is to create an autonomous onchain economy where villagers can come and go as they please to earn, collect and socialise. We want the community to always be the number one aspect of Cat Town, so multiplayer and sociability are top of our priorities to get right. Later down the line we want to expand into the physical world and offer merch and plushies amongst other things

I think it's important for us as devs to determine what we see as "winning" We need to make sure that earning potential can scale based on investment into Cat Town, but in terms of quality of life features or items with speculative value (e.g. items you cannot sell ingame to the supermarket) it will likely be easier to acquire these if a player plays more or progresses further!

Honestly? We all love cats (obviously) and we managed to snag www.cat.town one day after a quick brainstorming session. The domain was so good and made laugh so we just started building and never stopped

We love games that are transformed by user interaction and underlying economies. We feel like creating this kind of experience onchain really helps bring a fictional economy to life

Rob and I have always been interested in games with strong economic and RPG elements to them while Tara loves village / life-sim games. Each of us have our own skillset too, Rob is fantastic at backend development, Tara is our skilled artist and I have experience in building apps. How we met? Tara and I are a couple IRL, we met online and had one of our first "dates" during Covid 19 (when everyone was held up in their homes) on Animal Crossing, so it's really fitting that we're building Cat Town now! Rob and I met back at a local LAN center and quickly became friends because of our game interests and coding interests!
