It has become clear some tippers are engaging in short-term extractive behavior. So beginning within the next day, new restrictions will be enforced:

1. Tips to other tippers won't count toward your tipper score.
2. Within a 7 day rolling window...
  - a max of 15% of allowance can be given to other tippers
  - a max of 15% of allowance can be given to the same user

These changes will benefit honest tippers and hopefully drive more value to underrated users who haven't heard of Farther, which is ultimately the biggest thing that can grow this project over the long term.

I've temporarily disabled the restrictions.

The biggest risk is not taking one 📈

I think with all these tipping tokens, they're all super new, so there's no textbook or proven strategies yet. Everyone is trying to figure it out.

With Degen, people complain that the devs don't do enough to crack down on farming (I know this first hand since I'm one of the dedegeners, haha).

Then on the other hand, when the devs do what they can to crack down on bad actors which means a lot of rules/restrictions, so people complain. :)

And I'm not saying the people that are complaining are both wrong...they're actually both right. :)

It's just tough for a dev to figure out that perfect balance of keeping token integrity//keeping bad actors (which will benefit holders int he long-term) but also not make it overly complicated where you need a separate Wiki to understand the rules. 

So yeah, we're still in the first inning of this tipping token meta, IMO.

I agree it is early days

But degen was first and father just tried to capitalize on the new meta

Farther changed rules more often then degen and the token was never going to be better than degen

And let's be honest the rules were just fine before v2 but why make it more complicated? 

Like the devs aren't thinking straight....

My unsolicited 2 cents:

✔️ Keep it super simple: Go back to the old system where tipping people outside the ecosystem would get you a bigger allowance. I know I sound like a broken record, but that's how I got onboarded, and how I, in turn onboarded others. No other rules or incentives that people have to think about. :)

✔️ Think of it like retail...you're going to have shoplifters and employee theft. You don't want to subject all your customers to a few thieves. Be comfortable with the fact that there'll be a small percentage of people who steal things like a toothbrush or toothpaste. It's annoying, but it's not worth pulling a gun on them for. OTOH, if someone is trying to hold up the store, throw them in jail. Keep the rest of the shoppers happy though.

✔️ Might want to consider having some sort of weekly gathering through Farhouse or Tavern, just to check in with people and hear them out and address them directly. Something about voice/video humanizes both parties.
