Correct. No one is *entitled* to a word. Every channel, every name, every word is worth something It is the real estate of the internet Those willing to contribute to the protocol get to own valuable namespace that the protocol provides You can still make your display name whatever you want

Picture this. You think you’ve got a ticket to making real money some day. You also identify with the name. you don’t want to sell it now, when you think you could get more later on. So you hold it, cause you like it too. Then someone takes it from you bc they have the money, and they themselves sell it later4 $$$

What if the tax is 0.1%? So if someone offers $1m for it You’d just have to pay $1,000 to hold onto something you think is worth *more* than $1m (Since if you thought it was worth less than $1m in the future you’d take the $1m rn)

What if you’re dirt broke? Sure, ideally a smart rich person might come in and offer you options (which they themselves make a % off) but that’s probably not gonna happen. Imagine not having the money and losing it. Would feel like what they call the “poor tax”
