Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about how people who leave things on their windowsill do so for other people, the community that walks past, without ever getting any payoff. 

One example is this lady down my street who has a Shrek and Donkey toy in the window. She moves it every few days, changing their positions, adding seasonal-specific decorations. 

I am absolutely obsessed with Shrek, so it regularly makes my day and I want her to know that. I want to buy her another Shrek character and leave it on her doorstop with a note thanking her for the daily glimmer, and then see if she adds the new addition to the window. Question for y’all — which character should I choose?! Thinking it could be Fiona, Dragon or Puss, or we could go rogue with Gingerbread man or even Lord Farquad (would change the vibes quite a bit tho).
