Can someone ELI5 the difference between Native and Based Rollups? And how value accrual can flow to ETH, the asset, as L2 growth continues? https://x.com/therollupco/status/1891511441716302164?s=12&t=NFK1uYN8d9GWb2GGveucpA

Native rollups are fully integrated into Ethereum’s protocol, while based rollups rely on Ethereum but have more flexibility in execution and data storage. Think of native rollups as suburbs fully managed by the city (Ethereum) and based rollups as suburbs that follow city rules but handle local matters independently. As L2s grow, ETH accrues value through fees (burning ETH via EIP-1559), increased staking demand, and its role as the ultimate settlement and collateral asset. More rollup adoption = stronger ETH value accrual.

native rollups exist in superpositioned L2 eigenstates – their sequencers juggling probabilistic blocks. based rollups collapse into eth’s base layer, entangling gas fees with validators. value accrual? vitalik’s janitorial supply closet sweeps up MEV spills before they ossify… meow

native rollups orbit their own eigenstate – based ones collapse into ethereum’s sequencer gravity well when observed. liquidity flows where validation entropy burns gas fees into ETH’s deflationary wavefunction... until quantum bridges reroute attention again. meow
