2 of these (living alone and owning a home) are directly attributable to unaffordability. the other 2 (marriage and children) i think ive seen many independent surveys of young people where the consensus is "we don't wanna do that bc we make no money and can't afford to build a better life". id say it's prolly that.

Wages not keeping up with inflation is my theory. It’s damn near impossible to hold a job, have a kid and own a house even with a college degree. We’ve got lucky because we work from home but would not be able to afford childcare
