Music department was established in Tarakeswar Degree College in the year 2006. At present, there are six teachers in the department, one full timer & five SACT teachers. Out of them one teacher is PhD holder and one is NET qualified. Music discipline, started in the college in 2006, was studied under general stream till 2013. Hons papers in Music were started in the year 2014
