One of the more confusing parts about cross-chain markets is the the price and market cap don't line up 1:1. For example @zerebro recently came over to @base using Virtuals but the way the market is displayed on Solana vs Base makes its really hard to know what price you're buying at on Base. Any suggestions or thoughts here?

They’re moving coins from SOL to base so the market cap is “lower” on base because market cap is price * coins in circulation You’re buying at the same price though (.303), sans slight differences that will be arbitraged out. I would just buy on the native chain though as it will be more liquid

Price do differ from time to time depending on where you buy it. Goes for cross chain, cexes as well as perp and spot. Eventually the arbitrage opportunity gets big enough level things out. The more price history the chart has the more they'll start looking alike but they'll probably never be 1:1, even btc has shuttle price difference. That's why we have oracles, to make sure the price is reasonably fair when and where it matters.
