Devcon BKK - 8.8/10 This was my third one (Osaka, Bogota and now Bangkok) and I can confidently say I've been more impressed every time I go. My biggest shoutout goes to the event organizers - pulling off an incredible venue with so much different attractions and ways to spend time at the actual conference. From all the different hacker rooms, stages, hubs and decor it truly felt like you were transporting to a specific world and the energy was extremely palbable. Easily my favorite part was just walking around the venue bumping into friendly faces and getting to feel the vibe on the ground floor. While I didn't attend any main stage talks, I found the conference to be super worthwhile and better than 99% of other crypto conferences I've been to. My least favorite part was how many side events there were and the lack of coordination among people to make things feel more coordinated and aligned. (cont)

It's an impossible task - but the amount of stuff I missed due to venues being too far from one another was insane. It's also very representative of the current issue around culture fragmentation on ETH as a whole. There's so many competing projects, ecosystems and communities that everyone wants to host their own thing (myself included) instead of teaming up with people you don't really have that much cross-collaboration in common with. I'm not sure what the answer is here but I likely will not be trying to host our own event at the next Devcon and instead double down on helping an org like rAAVE absolutely crush their event by virtue of how much bigger and better organized it was than most other events I stopped by.

Getting to fly the Coop Records team out to Thailand for an offsite after the founder summit with @1kxnetwork was unforgetable. I never take these moments for granted and it was so inspiring seeing teams like @base carve out their own spot to truly bring people together across multiple days (instead of a one-off event) to really make people feel at home. Not all teams are built the same and you really got to see this at play this year

Most surprising highlight for me was the gender diversity and a noticeable increase in the amount of women present. As someone who's been going to crypto conferences for 7 years - this is always the biggest meme and this event felt like the first time I was confident that we're starting to reach a gender neutral industry and it doesn't have to just be all dudes with backpacks. Still a ton of work to be done here but this was a really positive signal to me

And last but not least a big shoutout to everyone who made the side events not feel like crypto events. It's easy to get lost in the sauce and talk about work all the time but what I was most impressed by were the events that got people out of their shell to dance and have a good time. rAAVE, Uniswap House and a few others checked the box here
