I researched them for my PhD and yeah I think they’ll be a net good They could be bad but most of the negative things people point to about cbdcs already happen under tradfi - e.g. extra-legal seizure of funds, social credit score (credit ratings) Privacy is a challenge tho, as with all of crypto

Do you think the negatives are extenuated for cbdc because it’s a more efficient system? What do you think will happen re privacy?

Potentially! I don’t know I do know every major gov/bank is thinking about it but they’re moving really really slowly. I suspect something like USDC will get co-opted by the US. If we want CBDCs to be private we should make our base layers private, ‘cos that’s where they’ll be deployed imo

Will they? I’ve understood many cbdcs may not even use blockchain. And jsut a database?
