*recognises that design decisions have trade-offs, and that gas optimisation presents a very bad trade-off* 😏 Receipts: - Wintermute saved 15K by using vanity addresses with leading zeros, but this cost them 9 figures (https://0xfoobar.substack.com/p/vanity-addresses) - Paraswap exploit from a few months ago, lucky to have only lost 24K due to swift white-hat hackers (https://neptunemutual.com/blog/analysis-of-the-paraswap-exploit/) - Velocore lost millions two weeks ago (https://www.theblock.co/post/298032/decentralized-exchange-velocore-addresses-7-million-hack-in-postmortem-offers-bounty-to-hacker) Many many such cases, this isn't really up for debate in my mind
