Onchain builders: which game are you playing?

Lately, it feels like there are two viable plays for onchain projects:

1. The Attention Game
Playbook: Stay loud, stay viral.
Pros: If you’re good at it, you can drive near-term exponential interest. Big hype = big runs.
Cons: You live and die by the hype. Constantly need new stunts, narratives, cult energy. Hard to sustain. And the crowd can quickly jump to the next shiny thing.

2. The Product Game
Playbook: Heads down, build real value.
Pros: Product-led growth is more sustainable, less fickle.
Cons: It’s a marathon in a sprint-driven market. You need conviction. And the product has to be good enough over time to earn attention on its own.

Most teams can’t do both. Choose wisely.
