found a person on reddit who is having an existential meltdown over fearing the time before he was alive…like, knowing all that time went by without him being aware of it is deeply unsettling and he can’t stop thinking about it

he even said it’s way scarier than knowing he will die in the future. i feel sorry for the guy, but also found it fascinating…i hope he finds some peace

ya "get over yourself" isnt the most charitable take for someone suffering or seeking help

still feel strongly though about this for some reason though, requires further investigation. probably projecting disgust about my own self obsession or something

a bitter pill to swallow, one's own meaninglessness and the meaninglessness of it all. unmoored and adrift, no firm ground to stand on

the death of their old constructs though very necessary to rebuild more stable stuff. hope they breakthrough to the other side by seeing (mindfully) that in this moment they are ok

yeah and at the same time…offering advice to others in these type of situations generally could actually be detrimental. he probably needs a professional 

if it was up to me though i’d have told him to practice mindfulness
