1/3 Ethereum already has countermeasures in place for the quantum era. 
In March, Vitalik shared a recovery fork strategy on the Ethereum Research forum, outlining how to protect user assets from quantum computing threats.

2/3 Ethereum uses ECC (Elliptic Curve Cryptography) and BLS signatures. Both rely on the discrete logarithm problem, which could be vulnerable to quantum computers using Shor's algorithm for efficient computation.

3/3 Vitalik's Quantum Emergency Protocol:
- Complete suspension of EOA-based transactions to mitigate ECDSA signature vulnerabilities
- Mandatory migration to smart contract wallets with ZK-SNARK or quantum-resistant encryption
- Implementation of STARK proof systems with Post-Quantum cryptography for quantum resistance
- Chain rollback and recovery hard fork execution upon quantum attack detection
