There is more unknown than known by far e.g. When the corpus callosum between the brain hemispheres is severed, the self becomes two selves And indeed the brain is modular as we can see when parts are damaged but the whole is not destroyed Unless you believe that brains are magic you gotta admit that 2 hemispheres passing information between themselves is materially + informationally no different from 2 entire brains (persons) doing the same Just extend that infinitely up and down forever to see that the universe must be conscious in at least some sense. All things have a point in spacetime where they were physically connected. Thus given that timescales are irrelevant for computation, all intelligence in the universe is spatiotemporally contiguous. The brain of the cosmos This is some unknown part of physics that intersects with information theory, cosmology, and pretty much everything. And everything that will ever be known will do that through consciousness. I’m telling you it’s crazy

Everything we can use, informational or physical, is a tool that extends consciousness. When driving a car, consciousness doesn’t end at the feet, but the wheels. You become a fast, massive, loud beast—no longer a bone skeleton with a gooey center, but a metal skeleton with a gooey center. And you act like such a beast. That’s why you get mad in the car.
