'Acala' (不動明王) always depicted wielding a sword amidst flames, was likely a monk. Though we can't know for sure if he actually used fire, He swore not to achieve enlightenment himself until he had caused all evildoers to attain enlightenment through immolation.

So, like, Acala was probably a monk who used fire as a symbol of his intense commitment to making sure all bad people got enlightened by burning in hell or something?
