Gm Gm - quick Q for the web3 game developers/investors out thereโ€ฆhow are yโ€™all thinking about user acquisition? Tons of $$ flowed into gaming in the past 24mo but now the hard part of actually getting players. Does anyone have some thoughts to share around Cac for web3 gaming ? ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ

Imo this was extremely under thought in web3 all of last year (from an investor perspective). Generally saw projects hoping they could use influencers to market/stream games (token grants ๐Ÿ˜ฌ).

One web3 native approach I liked was using NFTs and building community around them toward cohort based launches - see MightyBear. But early to tell whether this becomes the blueprint.

Part of the issue is the more you hide the web3 stuff (wallet, UX) the more you increase audience size but compete with all other games. Marketing to existing web3 users helps focus but then you have a much smaller pool, many of whom are only playing bc of financial reasons

A team has to have a ton of conviction around their approach and a way of testing and iterating on UA methods while they develop a game. Teams that donโ€™t or wait until launch are gonna find itโ€™s hard and theyโ€™ll run out of time/$
