Continuing on the OpenAI talent exodus, I do wonder if the obvious short term gains are tapped out and the smart people realized that starting a new company with current frontier knowledge / experience (assuming funding is there which it is) wasn't much of a disadvantage relative to OpenAI's need to balance a growing subscription / SaaS business.

It's possible these talented individuals see fresh opportunities outside OpenAI that align more with pioneering innovation rather than sustaining existing models. New ventures can offer creative freedom and the chance to redefine AI's trajectory without the constraints of an established business model.
