in 2008 i founded a company called socialmedian and the intent at first was to be an app factory, a shop that built lots of beta apps and then leaned into the first successful one

the first one we launched was wildly successful (grew to 6m users very quickly) and we never built any others

but the name stuck

it's been my twitter handle ever since as well
