i don't think so. merino is primarily an 8 and partey a 6, i imagine the idea is for rice to drop back to 6. 

this does raise an interesting question i've never tthought about though: why has no one tried to play partey at 8?

Both players prefer playing in the middle of the field, focusing on driving the ball rather than passing. A number 6 has a better awareness of the game before reaching the halfway line, while a number 8 excels at understanding the play beyond that point. FM ( the game ) shows them preferring a “ Carrilero “ CM.
