Yes. There’s luck involved. But it means Barca are actually the best team in La liga this year. They’re just unlucky not to be top. It also means if they continue this form they stand a good chance of winning La liga.

i think there are few people who think like this left. because most people would say it doesn't matter whether they have the best xpts or xg, if they're not top then they're not the best.

Xg isn’t everything. And xpts even less so. But it can point to very bad luck. Like Arsenal losing Man Utd in the FA cup. Or Barca losing their match to Atletico. For many things in life we focus too many on the results. You can make the wrong decisions and still roll double 6 and win.
