that europa league final is really an indictment on the quality of teams in the competition. crystal palace would have been favourites to win if they were in it.

For more context, one of the 2 teams who are currently going to be the lowest ranked teams in the PL from this season that will still be here next season will be European champions

I can’t speak about spurs but I can tell you the United team in Europa is totally different side to the team playing in the league. The players are being rotated and even those playing mentally have clearly given up on the league weeks ago. 

It’s the right call I think, who cares if we finish 16th or 12th? Makes no difference.

Much better to focus on the competition that qualifies us for a place in champions league worth £100 mill or so.

yeah and only going to get worse next season with more teams qualifying for Champions League
