something I think about in chaplaincy work (and in marketing!) is that people don’t report “a lack of purpose” as the issue instead it’s a vague sense of dissatisfaction/boredom/anxiety so those who report a lack of purpose are already almost there in resolving bc they identified the root cause

for me a cause of anxiousness is generally forgetting/misaligning what I spend my time on with what I’ve determined to be my purpose (and what I’ve found to be true for those I coached in the past) so a gentle nudge is super helpful (usually comes in a @cameron shaped package) and something I offer to others
