When I decided to go nomad in 2021, I didn't know that I was going to drop regular exercise from my life. In 2023, when I "came off the road" and settled in Brooklyn, I started working out again, but then I suffered major injuries (one required surgery) and had to sit on the sidelines again. I finally got back into the gym a few months ago, but then I strained another muscle. I did a few PT sessions and have been able to keep it up in the gym, but man... I had no idea when I left LA in 2021 that my 10 years of consistent working out was going to go out the window and that the road back was going to be this hard. It's tough, but I am committed to keeping it going. I am out of town for the month of August and in order to make sure I don't fall off, I came up with a simple program to build up my push-ups, sit-ups, and squats that I can do at home. Today I set baselines and will report here on progress over the next 4 weeks. Test: - 17 max push-ups - 45 2-min sit-ups - 65 2-min squats

I am not at all consistent with my workout, and you know me I don’t have the healthiest life :-) After any break (even small), I always restart way below my previous program, even if I feel I can hit harder. It has so far reduced my injuries, they used to be regular.

I tried that approach, but still managed to strain a muscle :) Getting more into a tortoise mindset is definitely the way
