4844 is really insane. Just minted an NFT on Base for a fee of $0.0009 USD. This is an *order of magnitude* cheaper than Stripe’s “competitive” rate of 3.25% + 20p per transaction. It’s getting harder to imagine a future where L2s aren’t pushing aside the trad payment processors.

Apparently Visa is running a stablecoin pilot on Solana, but I doubt they'll be able to position themselves to continue leading amid this shift
