What's happening with Warps? 

Warps aren't going away anytime soon, but in the long run they will. 

Warps were added two years ago because doing things x-chain was hard. By funding Warps, you had a single USDC like balance that could be spent on any chain easily.

X-chain infra has improved a lot thanks to services like @pw's Reservoir. 

In the next 1-3 years we'll reach a point where doing things x-chain is cheap, fast and reliable. When that happens, we won't need warps anymore and we'll deprecate them in favor of USDC.

We're not quite there yet, and so today you'll still need warps for buying invites and channels on Warpcast.

So why is the ux trying to get me to sell them? 2 notifs in 2 days

If you don't need to buy an invite or create a channel anytime soon, I would recommend cashing them out to USDC so you can spend them elsewhere. 

You can always buy more warps later.
