What if the Carrington Event happened again? In 1859, a colossal solar storm known as the Carrington Event crippled telegraph systems around the world. Today, a similar storm could affect everything from satellites to power grids, GPS and telecommunications. Are we prepared? Scientists constantly monitor the Sun, but the possibility of an event of that magnitude is not science fiction. Investing in resilient technology, protected infrastructure and collective awareness is key. What happened once... could happen again.

Interesting … I had never heard of it. I think we are quite underprepared for rare events.
