Crypto M&A deals expected to rise in 2025, top VCs say
Crypto mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activity rose to 248 deals in 2024, up from 221 in 2023, according to The Block Pro data. While improved, it remains below 2022's all-time high of 271 deals, signaling steady yet restrained growth.
"M&A was still quite muted in 2024, with a lot of companies and protocols unsure of what the future regulatory environment could look like," Rob Hadick, general partner at Dragonfly, told The Block. "With that said, most of the potential acquirers were crypto natives, who often wanted to use their own bloated valuation marks from 2021 to acquire companies with their equity consideration, especially as most are not cash-rich. That meant that while there were a lot of conversations on M&A activities, ultimately very few transacted outside of Stripe-Bridge." 0 reply

Larger Cohorts Than U.S. ETFs or MicroStrategy Are Dictating Bitcoin Price: Van Straten
What to know:
Since September, long-term holders have sold off over 843,000 BTC. While, in the same time frame short-term holders have accumulated over 1 million BTC.
MicroStrategy and the U.S. spot-listed ETFs have accumulated approximately 200,000 BTC each, since September.
Between futures, spot, and ETF trade volume the total volume has now eclipsed $100 billion.
According to checkonchain data, bitcoin futures trading volume hit an all-time high of around $120 billion on Nov. 17, almost doubling since the U.S. election. However, since then futures trade volume has plateaued and steadied around $100 billion. 0 reply

Cloud Cartography: $1000 Prize
We need maps of the cloud. And Farcaster can start providing those maps, because it's an open state social network. That is: Farcaster's database is public and viewable if running a hub.
So here's what I'd like to see: a Python script, hosted at replit.com, that lets you paste in N usernames to generate an in-browser visualization of the social network between those N people, with a slider that visualizes their interconnections as a function of time.
As you drag the slider, your code should display various metrics like the number of edges, the adjacency matrix, and the all-pairs-shortest-path matrix (https://coursys.sfu.ca/2020fa-cmpt-307-d1/pages/slides21/view) as a function of time.
This will allow you to visualize a network of N people coming together, by connecting, over time. All your code should be open source, your visualizations should be pretty and mobile friendly, and you can add other features so long as you nail the main ones. @bountybot 25 replies
