Whenever I come back to India, it takes a little to adjust to how everything is time shifted by +2-3 hours. Lunch is often close to 2pm, dinner isn't until at least 8pm and bed time is often close to midnight. I wonder why some cultures lean early vs. late.

Because most work timings are a little late, that throws off the schedule. If you go to villages, their lunch is by 10am and dinner by 6pm.... Mostly.

village schedules are quite different and definitely based around weather. early start to beat the sun, midday break to get out of the hot sun and evening work + early dinner to rise early again.
